ACS Scholars Program (March 1st, 2021)
The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups in the chemical sciences, majoring in chemistry-related disciplines, and intending to pursue chemistry-related careers. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,500 students have received funding from the ACS Scholars Program. Prof. Ball is an ACS Scholar from '02!

Amgen Scholars Program (materials available in Nov 2021; Due Feb. 1st, 2022)
Each summer hundreds of undergraduates step into some of the world’s premier research universities and institutions to participate in the Amgen Scholars Program. Students conduct hands-on research in the lab alongside top faculty, participate in seminars and networking events, and take part in symposia with their peers and leading scientists.

Summer research program: Broad Summer Research Program (BSRP); broad.io/bsrp
BSRP offers students an opportunity to conduct intensive research in a collaborative community. Participants spend the summer in Cambridge, MA performing original computational or experimental research in labs across the Broad Institute’s research areas, from cancer to infectious disease to computational biology. In addition, the program provides a stipend and features a rich curriculum that emphasizes career development, personal development, and teamwork.
Who should apply: first-years, sophomores, juniors, and other undergrad students graduating after Fall 2022. We look for applicants with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM.

Caltech WAVE Fellows Undergraduate Research Program (Due Jan 7th)
The WAVE Fellows program provides support for undergraduate students, who are underrepresented in STEM and intend on pursuing a Ph.D., to conduct a 10-week summer research project under the mentorship of Caltech faculty.
Research opportunities in biology, neuroscience, chemistry, chemical engineering, engineering and applied science, geology, environmental science, sustainability, astronomy, physics, nanotechnology, quantum sciences, humanities, social science, and more!
Research-specific information sessions are scheduled starting on November 3. This is a chance to learn more about the program, application process, and meet Caltech faculty in different disciplines.

Marine Physical Laboratory Summer Internship Program – Scripps Institute of Oceanography (Due Jan 14th)
– 10 weeks @ $15.05 hr
The Marine Physical Laboratory (MPL) at world renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) seeks inquisitive motivated undergraduates with exceptional aptitude for quantitative science, majoring in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, chemistry, biology, geology and related majors.
Undergraduate college students contemplating a career in scientific research and development are encouraged to apply for a summer research internship in marine science and technology. This ten-week summer internship program offers qualified students the opportunity to work with some of the most notable scientists in the world while earning a modest salary. In addition to their research, students will attend weekly seminars given by members of MPL faculty and scientific staff and others.
Eligibility
Applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident currently enrolled as 1st, 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate at a college or university. Senior year undergrads, former MPL interns and high school applicants are not eligible.
